Small incident that made me happy.

This incident happened around 2019 August.

I went for grocery shopping that day in afternoon by the time I finished it was already evening. As soon as I came out from the store I started walking for bus stop that is 10mins away from the store. After walking for 2–3 mins I came across an old couple, they called me, I was contemplating whether to stop or not but eventually I thought that I should listen to them once. They were speaking in Marathi, though I am not at all thorough with the language but I understood that they were asking for some money so that they can eat. I took 10–15 secs to make the decision of giving them money or not as they were not in very bad condition. But then I thought, may be they were in desperate need so I gave them enough amount that would buy them a simple meal.

After I gave them the money I started walking towards my bus stop which was still 7mins away. While walking I was thinking that my decision of giving them money was correct or did I just got fooled by them. Then I thought to stop thinking about it as the deed was already done.

I reached the bus stop and boarded a bus to my place. Reached to my place in 15 mins. I got down from the bus and started walking to my home which was 10mins walking distance from bus stop. After walking for 2–3 mins an uber driver stopped on the way.

Uber driver- (said something about the building near my residence)

Me- Yes sir, you are on right path, just go straight and you will reach the building’s entrance ( I thought that he is asking for the building’s address)

Uber driver- Don’t mind but if you are going same way then I can drop you.

I was in dilemma whether to get in or not, but as it was familiar and crowded area and also I had so many bags from grocery shopping so I got in the car. After getting in the car I got to know that I misheard him, he was not asking about the address but offering me help as I have many bags in my hands. Within 1 min I was near my residence. I thanked him for his gesture and went home happily.

THE END.

I walk from that same path daily but nobody stops and offers the help. But on the same day both the incidents took place that’s why I can’t help but relate both the incidents. And also by this all my confusion about the decision I made earlier with that old couple got cleared.

That small gesture of Uber driver’s kindness made me happy :).
